Microcredit Regulatory Authority Hosts SIB Discussion

Dhaka, Bangladesh – May 30, 2024 – The Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) convened a meeting of CEOs from licensed microcredit institutions to discuss the implementation of a new Staff Information Bureau (SIB). The gathering aimed to explore the potential of SIB in creating a robust and transparent microcredit sector.

Chaired by the MRA's Executive Vice Chairman, Mr. Md. Fasiullah, the meeting highlighted the significance of SIB in establishing a comprehensive database of nearly 200,000 staff members working in the microcredit industry. This database is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the sector.

During the meeting, a detailed presentation and live demonstration of the SIB software were provided by the MRA's Systems Analyst. Attendees engaged in a fruitful discussion, sharing their insights and suggestions on the implementation of SIB.
